April is National Poetry Month!
This year, A.C. Reynolds High School will be celebrating National Poetry Month in some exciting ways. Here is how you can participate.
Enter the first annual A.C. Reynolds Poetry Contest. See below for rules and guidelines.
Grab a template from the English faculty and insert a poem of your choice; keep it SFS, return it to an English teacher, and you will help us create gallery walls of poetry for all to enjoy.
If you are a visual artist, insert the poem with an accompanying drawing.
Search for a poem (any English faculty member can help) that holds a message you want to send to someone--a friend, a family member, your government representatives, anyone--and email it to them. Show us the email; there's something in it for you.
Look around the school for posters about National Poetry Month; they'll nudge you in the brain and the heart.
Look around the school for posters with poems on them. Read them and blow your mind.
Starting Monday, April 20th, stop an English faculty member or a member of the Creative Writing Club and ask if they have a poem in their pocket. If you choose wisely, there's something in it for you.
Keep poems in YOUR pocket to share with friends, faculty and staff. If an English faculty member asks you for it and you have one, there's something in it for you.
