My name is Maura Donovan. I am so excited to join Pound Ridge Elementary School! I’ve been a proud educator in the Bedford Central School District since 2005. I have previously taught 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades at Bedford Village Elementary School. I’m excited to begin this new chapter at PRES!

Outside of school, I’m the proud mom of two teenagers. Having children of my own has deeply shaped the way I approach teaching. I know firsthand how important it is for families to feel supported, informed and connected.

In first grade, you can expect a year full of curiosity, growth, and joyful learning. We’ll be building foundational skills in phonics, reading, writing, and math. We will also focus on nurturing independence, social-emotional development, and a lifelong love of learning. I believe in creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment where all students feel seen and supported.
