Option 1 - Best Option if Students are rostered

Create a Google Classroom from Aeries

  1. When you open Aeries, the Class Summary appears.

  2. Click Add Website.

  3. Select Create.

  4. You will receive a message that all students have been added to your class.

  5. Click Visit Website to complete the process.

The class roster will update when Aeries updates. Students who are removed from the class will be grayed out in Google Classroom.

Option 2 - Creating a Classroom

You can Create lessons and save them as drafts.

Create a Google Classroom

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Click on the + icon in the upper right corner.

  3. Select Create class.

  4. Type a name and additional optional information.

  5. Click Create.

Add students: Option 2

  1. Go to classroom.google.com

  2. Click on the class you just made

  3. Click on the class code and enlarge it, display for students to join class

  4. Once students have input the code they are in your new Classroom.

Link a Google Classroom with Aeries

  1. When you open Aeries, the Class Summary appears.

  4. Click on the already created Google Classroom.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Select Website to open Google Classroom.

Turn off Co-Teacher Notifications

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Click on the three settings bars on in the upper left corner.

  3. Scroll down to find Settings.

  4. Turn off Receive email notifications or scroll down and turn off individual classroom notifications.

Move Classes

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Find the classroom you would like to move.

  3. Select the 3 dots in the top right.

  4. Click on Move.

  5. Select where you want to move the classroom.

You can also click and drag the classes.

Change the Name Students See

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Click on the three settings bars on in the upper left corner.

  3. Scroll down to find Settings.

  4. Select Manage.

  5. Click on the arrow next to your name.

  6. Retype your password.

  7. Change your first name and Save.

At the End of the TRimester

Rename Google Classroom and Archive Later

Keep your Google Classroom available until after Parent Conferences. To reduce confusion, rename the Classroom until you can Archive it.

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Click on the three dots of the old class.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Add "Trimester 1" to Section.

  5. Add DO NOT USE NOW to the front of the class name.

  6. Click Save.

Unlink Google Classroom in Aeries and Create a New One

At the end of the trimester, start a new Google Classroom.


  1. Find the class on the Aeries home page.

  2. Click on the pencil icon next to Website.

  3. Select Un-Link.

  4. Click OK.

Archive Old Google Classrooms

De-clutter your Google Classroom page but archiving old classes.

  1. Go to classroom.google.com.

  2. Look for the three dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail.

  3. Select Archive.

Restore a Google Classroom

Any Archived Google Classroom can be restored.


  1. Select the 3 lines in the upper left corner of Google Classroom.

  2. Scroll down and find Archived classes.

  3. Find the Classroom and select the 3 dots.

  4. Click Restore and then Restore again.
