Where to find settings for meetings
ON - Waiting Room
ON - Require a passcode when scheduling new meetings
ON - Embed passcode in invite link for one-click join
ON - Only authenticated users can join: Sign in to Zoom
ON - Host video - Start meetings with host video on
ON - Participants video - Start meetings with participant video on. Participants can change this during the meeting.
ON - Computer Audio (teacher choice)
OFF - Join before host
ON - Mute participants upon entry (teacher choice)
ON - Chat
ON - Prevent participants from saving chat (teacher choice)
OFF - Private chat
ON - Sound notification when someone joins or leaves (teacher choice)
OFF - File transfer
ON - Co-host
ON - Polling
ON - Always show meeting control toolbar
ON - Screen sharing - All participants can share - Only host can start sharing when someone else is sharing
OFF - Annotation
ON - Nonverbal feedback
ON - Meeting reactions
ON - Allow removed participants to rejoin
OFF - Allow participants to rename themselves
ON - Breakout room - Allow host to assign participants to breakout rooms when scheduling
OFF - Allow use of videos for virtual backgrounds
Caution: This only affects a Zoom meeting if the person creating the meeting has this setting on their account.
Log in to zoom.us/signin with Google.
Click on Settings.
Click on In Meeting Basic settings.
Find the Chat toggle
Scroll to Private chat.
Toggle it off.
OFF - Hosts can give participants the permission to record locally
OFF - Record gallery view with shared screen
OFF - Gallery view
OFF - Record an audio only file
Make sure to click SAVE when making changes.
OFF - Show international numbers link on the invitation email
