Literacy Lab

Mrs. Rosenberg

This is my precious newborn son! His name is Joseph, and I will probably talk about him a lot. He was born in May while the world was struggling to figure out how to move forward, and we hope the near future holds a more "normal" world for him.

This is me and my husband, Nick. He is my best friend and primary source of fun, laughter, and love. We met in Atlanta, Georgia (where we both grew up) and married in 2018. We love playing board games, traveling, and hiking together.

Welcome to Mrs. Rosenberg's Class!

Hello 8th graders! Welcome to the Titan team. I'm excited to be your Literacy Lab teacher for the 2020-21 school year! This is my second year at Northside and my sixth year teaching. I hope to make this year the best year yet (because I like a good challenge!) We have a lot of changes in store for us, but I'm hopeful we will persevere.

As a typical English teacher, I love reading, journaling, and (of course) grammar! My favorite genres to read are historical fiction and memoirs. I enjoy being immersed in a book from a particular time period with some embellished details. I have not had much time to read this summer with a newborn around!

Aside from reading, I also enjoy running, hiking, cleaning (I know, right?!), playing board games, and traveling to new places. I have been involved with cross-country since I was a freshman in high school, and from there I went on to start a triathlon club at my university. I absolutely love running, and I have always enjoyed the relationships that have come from the sport. I completed my first marathon in 2014, and now I stick to shorter distances. While I loved being an assistant coach for Northside's team, my new role as a mom will pull me away for a while.

I really enjoy having a strong relationship with the people I spend my days around, so please don't hesitate to find me when you have some exciting news to share or just want someone to chat with. I'm looking forward to learning with you all this school year and getting to know you personally. Please reach out with any questions or concerns that come up. The easiest way to reach me is through my work e-mail, but please know that any e-mails sent after school hours will probably be addressed the next morning. I look forward to meeting you all mask-to-mask!
