Introduction to MSTAR Assessment Platform
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 state assessments, we are excited to introduce MSTAR—the new platform that will support statewide testing beginning this school year.

Review i-Ready Inform Padlet on the STC site.
Escalate roster errors to rosters-support@cainc.com
Administer the test to students in grades K - 8 (Math); Grades 6 - 8 (ELA)
Only students with red rush flags should be retested.
Only STCs can reset/assign new tests for students with red rush flags.
Please note that we do not offer accommodations on diagnostic assessments for SWD or MLs, although accessibility features may be available.

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) August 24 – October 10, 2026

Students must have a state ID assigned in Infinite Campus in order to test. Please email kamiller@bcps.k12.md.us with the student’s local ID number only to request a SASID.
Teachers can officially begin entering SAEBRS data on September 24, 2026.

Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test Third Edition (NNAT3) September 8 – December 22, 2026
We recommend administering this assessment after the state-mandated Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA). The KRA testing window closes on October 10 and cannot be extended by the district.
Who Must Be Tested: All Kindergarten students at traditional and charter schools.
New Students: For students who are new to the district in grades beyond Kindergarten, please reach out to Alex Clough before testing to ensure enough licenses are available.
Family Resources: NNAT-3 Testing Letters for Families are available on the GAL site. Scroll to the bottom of the page to access them.
Coordinator Resources: Review the NNAT-3 Frequently Asked Questions document to address common administrative questions.

PSAT and SAT Update (High Schools Only)
An email was sent to PSAT and SAT Coordinators on Tuesday afternoon. Please review that email for important updates about the PSAT and SAT.
