This year Baltimore City is collecting partnership and leveraged funds information in a standard way. City Schools has adopted the Partnerships & Leveraged Funds trackers developed and used by the Family League of Baltimore. Information from these trackers will be used to help tell the story of community schools across the district. We are also working to batch upload the partnership report into the PIE Portal to prevent double data entry. Below you will find information and resources to help you complete these documents. If needed, you can reach out for help to the City Schools Team:

The Leveraged Funds report collects all of the resources, services, and donations you identify and coordinate for your community schools and assigns a dollar value to it.
It includes both cash & in-kind resources, services, or donations
It can include the following:
Gift cards donated to the community school
In-kind services (e.g.afterschool programming & summer programming, health & wellness programming, etc.)
The hours worked by volunteers
Supplies & materials donated to the school
Here are some tips for calculating the dollar value of donations & leveraged services. Community school coordinators and site specialists should always reach out to their supervisor if they have questions about what dollar amount to include in their Leveraged Funds Report.
Ask the partner or donor - Service providers can usually tell you the cost of the program they're providing, and donors may also be able to as well.
Volunteer hours - Unless you have specific data to indicate a higher rate, you can use the 2022 Maryland minimum wage of $12.50/hr.
If looking for the value of school supplies or donated coats a quick Google or Amazon search may be able to give you comparable costs.
If calculating the value of slightly used/worn items you can use this guide from the Good Will of Northern New England, or your best judgement.
Baltimore community schools have the most amazing partners anywhere, and the strategy wouldn't work without all of you building and managing those relationships and services. This report tracks the partners at the school level, and we are piloting a process to batch upload these partners into the PIE Portal so that you will only have to enter the information one time, into the Partners Report in your action plan.
Tips for completing the Partners Report
Always include the full partner name
The partner description is just a short sentence about who they are and what they offer, e.g., Holly's Program is a partner offering afterschool services
The First and Last Name of the partner contact must be included (it should not be you), as should the Contact's Email
The Partner's Business Address should be where they receive mail, not where they provide services
Be sure to complete the "Partner Type PIE Portal" column in Blue - this will help with the batch upload of information into the PIE Portal
Be sure to complete every column of information
If you have questions or need help you can reach out to the community school team at City Schools.
