A virtual conference is a fantastic opportunity to hear many new ideas in a short period of time, learn about leaders in various content areas, and connect with others in real-time. A handful of yearly conferences are linked below.
Facebook Groups allow for educators of matching content areas, grade levels, or locations to come together virtually. In these groups, teachers can ask questions, share resources, and respond when time is available.
Searching Twitter hashtags is a great way to gather a number of templates and ideas in short bursts. Take five minutes to get motivated, find a new spin on an old lesson, and branch out!
EdCamps are free, public events that leverage the knowledge and experiences of attendees by allowing educators to collaboratively determine topics for discussion on the day of the event. During COVID-19, this opportunity has taken a backseat to other forms of collaboration, but will hopefully return soon!

Local collaboration may include monthly meetups to connect local science teachers, a quarterly get-together of fourth-grade educators, or an administrative bi-weekly meeting to discuss current community-wide challenges. Speaking and reflecting with grade/content/job-alike peers should be a part of every educator's regular practice.
If you work within Butte County, you may also wish to become an EdTech Ambassador. The EdTech Ambassador initiative creates a formal communication channel between Butte County Office of Education's EdTech Department and Butte County teachers to ensure educator engagement with up-to-date EdTech trends, tools, and materials that enhance student learning. See the link above for further details.
