BC3 Members: Reach out to bc3@bc3sfbay.org if something needs updating
Section 3 of the SBTi Supplier Engagement Guide suggests materials you might need for stakeholder conversations. Whenever possible, use data to reinforce your position.
Use your baseline supplier data (see section 2C) to help stakeholders understand your supplier base and where you recommend focusing near term efforts to maximize impact.
It’s likely that stakeholders will want information about what will be expected of their teams, who will be responsible for which pieces of work, who will be responsible for budget and resourcing, etc.

Questions BC3 Practitioners think you should be prepared to discuss to help with decisions of ownership
Who will be responsible for sending a request to all suppliers to ask them to “set an SBT”?
How will the list of suppliers receiving such a request be reviewed and approved internally?
Who will be following up with suppliers? Who will be responding to questions from suppliers?
Who will track supplier progress to set SBTs?
Who will provide access to necessary data (e.g. spend database) to track progress? What internal data will be required, and who will require access?
What communication tools will be used? Are these already used in procurement??
What existing processes (webinars, touch points, business reviews) does your business have that can be leveraged to engage suppliers? How will those processes be used?
