Accounting for CPA
Requirements
Six core courses:
Financial Accounting (ACCT1021)
Financial Accounting Standards and Theory I (ACCT3301)
Financial Accounting Standards and Theory II (ACCT3302)
Managerial Cost Analysis (ACCT3307)
Auditing and Other Assurance Services (ACCT3309)
Federal Taxation (ACCT4405)
Important Information
Students interested in sitting for the CPA exam will need to take additional accounting courses, typically 4-6 extra.

Accounting for Finance & Consulting
Requirements
Two core courses
Financial Accounting (ACCT1021)
Intermediate Accounting for Finance & Consulting (ACCT3321)
Choose a track and take two more courses
Consulting Track: (3) Introduction to Managerial Accounting (ACCT1022), (4) Managerial Cost Analysis (ACCT3307)
Finance Track: (3) Fundamentals of Finance (MFIN1021), (4) Financial Statement Analysis (ACCT3351)
Two electives from set list
Important Information
Students must pay close attention to the prerequisite requirements of the electives and plan ahead. We recommend four semesters to complete this minor.
Students must take Financial Accounting before all other courses.
Students wishing to switch from the Accounting for CPA minor after taking ACCT3301 (FAST I) have two options. You may take a one credit independent study which, together with ACCT3301, will satisfy the ACCT3321 requirement. Alternatively, you may take ACCT3302 as one of your electives. Both courses together will satisfy the ACCT3321 requirement.

Finance
Requirements
Four core courses:
Financial Accounting (ACCT1021)
Fundamentals of Finance (MFIN1021)
Corporate Finance (MFIN1127)
Investments (MFIN1151)
Two electives:
One from a set list
Another Finance elective (can be another class from the above list or any other MFIN class)
Important Information
Students need four semesters to complete a Finance Minor. Financial Accounting must be taken first, followed by Fundamentals of Finance. Next, students can take Corporate Finance and Investments. Corporate Finance and Investments are prerequisites to most of the available electives.
Students interested in taking a 6000 level elective require senior status and permission from the Finance Department.

General Business
Requirements
One Required Course:

* The following courses can substitute for this course: Computer Science I (CSCI1101), Computer Science II (CSCI1102), and the newly offered summer bootcamp course "Jumpstart into Coding" (to be offered beginning in the summer of 2023)

Customer Research (MKTG2153)
Applied Marketing Management (MKTG4256)

Options include Customer Behavior, Retail Marketing, Strategic Brand Management, and more!
Important Information
The four core classes must be taken in separate semesters, therefore, students need atleast four semesters to finish a Marketing Minor.
Two electives may be taken after Marketing Principles is complete.
Students need to take a statistics course prior to taking Customer Research.
