Student Athletes Take On The Big League

Caitlin Russo '20

Tanner Watson, ‘19, a varsity thrower on the track team, has committed to Ohio State University to continue his academic and athletic career. When asked about how he felt, he said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of something great that’s so difficult to achieve.”


Joanna Chang, ‘19, a varsity volleyball player, has been accepted to Cornell University because of her outstanding academic and athletic achievements. When asked about it and how her parents felt, she said, “I felt nervous but excited. My parents were very proud of me.”

The Return of Recess?

Recess is back at BBHHS! As of this year, BBHHS started allowing students to have the option to go play in the gym during lunch. This change gives students a time to release stress and to just have fun!

Jack and Adam Buzz the District XC Meet

On October 20th, the Bees ran the District Cross Country Race.The boys missed qualifying for the Regional Meet by 9 points.

The Bees were lead by Jack Barchet ’19 with a time of 16:33.30, placing 6th overall and Adam Jones ‘20 with a time of 16:53.40, placing 16th overall. Jack and Adam individually qualified for the regional race.

Senior Soccer Leaders

Mario Abou-mitri ‘19 and Zach Bahr ‘19 lead the Boys Varsity Soccer Team this season. Mario Abou-mitri ‘19 leads the team with 12 points in this season so far. Goalie Zach Bahr ‘19 has a total of 28 saves and 2 shutouts, only letting in six goals.


Lining It All Up

Boys Varsity Golfer, Jacob Henyey '19, lines up his drive against Nordonia en route to a 175 - 156 win for the Bees on September 6th. The Varsity Bees have started off hot, even if it’s not currently reflecting in the wins column. Meanwhile, The JV boys won the Kenston Invitational on August 15th.


Cheerleaders Take On Hawaii

During the first football game, the cheerleaders showed their school spirit by wearing colorful leis to go along with the Hawaiian theme.

Bees Buzz Through Bruce Lerch Invitational

The hive was buzzing September 8th as the Brecksville Boy's Cross Country team had another successful year at the Bruce Lerch Invitational. Jack Barchet ‘19 placed 3nd overall with a time of 16:34.2.

John McSweeney ‘20 placed 4th overall with a time of 18:08.9.

Sisterly Love on the Volleyball Court

Volleyball is a family tradition in the Chang family. Senior Joanna Chang (right) and Freshman Joy Liu (left) are unphased by playing side by side as starters and are the only players on the varsity court who never catch a break from family time during practices.

Senior star Ally Lydey ‘19, looks intense and ready to pounce during the Lady Bees Varsity match at Hudson High School on 8/30. Ally Lydey never fails to amaze the crowd with her sharp movements and advanced skills.


The Big Race

Anna Mehendale ‘22 won the 5k race at Bruce Lerch on September 8th 2018. Anna came in 6th place overall and first place out of the BBHHS Varsity runners. Her amazing time of 20 minutes and 17 seconds stuns the crowd as she trotted to the finish line.
