Please know that keeping your child safe throughout the school day and during our annual field trips is always of paramount concern. Please also know that there may not always be a nurse or school nurse in attendance for all of the field trips which are scheduled throughout the school year, necessitating for certain permissible delegation roles to be placed on the teachers or moderators who will be in attendance for the trips. Needed medicines for your child, along with updated Action Plans - in the form of Asthma Action Plans and/or Food Allergy Action Plans - are required to be updated yearly and completed by both parents and primary care physicians and serve as an essential component in maintaining your child's health and safety while ensuring previous plans have remained unchanged, or should new orders be necessitated based on your physician's evaluation of your child.

BBES Field Trips occurring throughout the school year that will require a student to have updated action plans are those with;
➡️Asthma
➡️Food, Latex, or Bee Sting (Venom) Allergies
➡️Diabetes
➡️Epilepsy &/or Seizure Disorders
➡️Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH)
➡️Any 'Other' Underlying Health Conditions Which Are Medically Diagnosed by Your Attending Physician
Rescue Inhalers and Epi-Pens are necessitated for any students with those underlying conditions, previously recorded or otherwise, and/or who are medically diagnosed, with "Back-Up" medications needing to be provided to the School Nurse and housed in the Health Office to be used when needed unless the student has been trained by their Pediatrician's Office on proper usage whereby allowing for self-carry / self-adminsitration.
Please see the "OUTDOOR AIR QUALITY INDEX (AQI) & ASTHMA" tab within this Health Office web page to learn more about Asthma, the importance of following up with yearly medical appointments, how outdoor air quality can effect your child's condition, and how always carrying your Rescue Inhaler on your person can be life saving.
