Using YouTube to your advantage is something that most of you will likely find beneficial. YouTube videos can be recorded once and used for years to come. YouTube will also allow your students to be able to rewatch any instruction they may have learned, and pause as they feel necessary to take notes.
There are many formats in which you can create your videos. You can allow your students to decide, or give particular instructions as to which format you would like them to use. Below are three videos I have made on my own, as well as instructions on how to make all of them. You can use these videos to instruct your students or give them as assignments!
Many students may enjoy a flipped classroom experience. Here is an example of a lecture style youtube video. You can also use a website called EdPuzzle where you link your videos to ensure your students do not fast forward to the end, and have to answer questions throughout. Instructions on how to make a video like this can be seen in the "Power Point" section below.

This video is a hand animated video with voice over effect. This video style can be a bit more tedious to make, but allows for a very clear understanding of the students knowledge on the subject.
This video was made using an app called Plotagon, which is free to download and to make videos with. Students can have fun making animations while showing their content at the same time! This is also a nice option for students who may be more anxious to present or record their own voice.
This video was made using an application called Screencast-o-matic which is free and safe for download on both PC and Mac. The application records your screen and allows voice recording at the same time. It also has an option to use pointers to direct your students to content on the screen.
