Hello & Welcome!
I hope that you had a restful and fun summer! My summer break was amazing - lots of time with family & friends, outdoor adventures, projects around my house, and lots of RELAXING. As good as vacation was, I am excited to be back for my 11th year at RHL and I am looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful RHL students & families!
As we work together this year, please keep the following in mind:
I have designed my classes to allow students choice within the framework that I provide to ensure that they meet the learning standards of the course. This gives students more flexibility than they may be used to in a math course so it is imperative that the parent/guardian is in-tune with weekly coursework completion by engaging with the student in the learning process.
In an effort to not bombard you with a ton of emails, I will use google classroom to communicate with students/families regarding the math courses that I teach. Please access your student's google classroom where you will find the resources for each lesson.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns so that we can work together as we embark on this learning adventure. I truly want your family to be successful in my class, I can't help if I'm not aware of a problem. The easiest way to contact me is by email. I do my best to respond to emails by the next day if not sooner: vandermolen.quincy@battlegroundps.org
I look forward to partnering with you!

How to Support Learning Math @ Home
Ask about the concepts they are learning and have them show you their notes/practices
Check their progress and look at their progress tracker - pacing is about 2 lessons per week
Encourage them to ask questions and to seek help to improve their understanding
Hold them accountable to working on their coursework at home - about 3 hours each week
Let them know that learning math can be challenging at times, but that they can do it!
