Reading Curriculum and Lessons

StoryWorks:

Check out this resource HERE. New to the classroom this year (21'/22'), we will explore stories together with Common Core-aligned activities. StoryWorks is a Scholastic resource in a magazine format focused on reading and writing standards.

Novel Studies:

Our class will read one novel together, Charlotte's Web. We may also add in other novel groups as time and ability allows. This novel study is a favorite of past third-grade classes! We will incorporate art, writing, and other fun activities alongside the story.

StoryTown:

The district-provided reading curriculum is StoryTown. This curriculum was published before our Common Core Standards were developed and does not align with all standards. For this reason, we use portions of this curriculum while also implementing other resources. We will read specific stories out of the StoryTown book and use this intermittently throughout the school year.
