1. Brief description and aims of module:
You compile a portfolio of work related to job applications for specific industry related roles relevant to your chosen subject specialism. You learn how to apply for work and promote yourself through a job application process, CV development and digital self-marketing. The application process culminates in an assessed job interview. An interview panel of staff and/or guest professionals assesses the application and interview process.
The module aims to:
Engage in professional workplace application process
Create professional digital and written self-promotional skills
Develop practical interview techniques
2. Outline syllabus
Throughout this module, you engage in a range of practical and theoretical job application and interview skills and techniques. You create a professional CV and statement of application for interview and learn how to design and develop a promotional website enabling you to post your CV, supporting material, videos, links or pictorial evidence of subject specific skills. As part of this module you undertake a mock interview process with an interview panel.
3. Teaching and learning activities
Tutors provide subject specific lecture support throughout the module, including a practical interview process. There is additional support available through tutorials and one to one formative feedback.
