1. Brief description and aims of module:
Prior to this module, you must apply for a 4-week professional work placement in a related production subject area. Through agreement with your tutors you interview for, and acquire a placement position with the provider. Once on the placement you engage with a professional creative team to gain first-hand industry experience and to develop professional contacts. On completion of the placement, you present your insights to staff and students in a seminar setting.

2. Outline syllabus
During the work placement you engage fully in all professional practices, working hours and Health and Safety regulations related to the job role and in accordance with the host company’s policies and procedures. You develop previously acquired practical and theoretical skills to a professional working environment. You document and reflect on the experiences and processes learned and present these in work placement presentation seminar.
3. Teaching and learning activities
Tutorial support is provided prior to your placement, to agree on the placement setting and parameters. The lecturing staff will maintain contact with the placement provider, who provides feedback on your performance that informs your tutors’ assessment. You prepare and present a seminar to staff and students reflecting your professional experience.
