1. Brief description and aims of module:

This module builds on and develops the business awareness and acumen gained during TDF5005-20, Styling and Display with Professional and Business Practice, and/or the experience gained during your year out in industry.

You will be introduced to skills in approaching and communicating with industry, portfolio selection and presentation, interview techniques, promotion, intellectual property, financial awareness, awards and bursaries and alumni opportunities.

You will engage in critical debate focussing on, and around, the textile industry and on issues raised in and from lectures and discussion.

his module develops your entrepreneurial skills and increases your awareness which enable you to promote and develop your work to professional and commercial audiences.

Study trips:  Scheduled visits to galleries and museums will play a key role in providing access to current practice and cultural debates.  These visits will help you contextualize your own work.
