1. Brief description and aims of module:
Through exploration of issues surrounding wider aspects of music management and industry, you gain the skills and knowledge appropriate for a wide range of careers both in and outside music. The module allows you to gain specialist knowledge and experience of areas such as music management; policy and copyright; and/or music journalism.

2. Outline syllabus:
Sessions provide in-depth training and comparative examination of examples of managing musical enterprises professionally. Sessions may include (but are not restricted to) strategies for ensemble or venue management; funding streams and project implementation; legal issues and copyright law (as applicable to music); as well as reviewing live or recorded music as a journalistic practice. You create a portfolio of work to demonstrate the work undertaken in the module, which may include documentation of management projects undertaken; evidence of strategic planning; articles, reviews, or other written materials.
3. Teaching and learning activities:
Tutors deliver the module through group sessions for outline and critical discussion of the topics at hand and provide mentored support for the facilitation or consideration of case study projects that run throughout the programme of study.
