1. Brief description and aims of module:
The module develops your creative entrepreneurial and independent personal business skills within the wider music industry. This will be achieved by deriving and documenting a substantial industry-related project or product (or portfolio combination of the two) to a professional level, alongside documentation of self-reflexive and evaluative practices.
This module aims to:
Provide a collaborative environment in which to develop an area of independent study
Foster a positive approach to lifelong learning and career development
Facilitate the expression of ideas within a professional and/or academic context
2. Outline syllabus:
You are mentored in deriving and developing a substantial industry-related product or project to be realised towards the conclusion of the module. Such products or projects could take the form of (but are not limited to), the design and deployment of a community outreach programme; the implementation of a curatorial project; recording and releasing a professional standard album (with associated product design, showcase, and launch); or a substantial portfolio of smaller projects of similar design.
3. Teaching and learning activities:
You work both independently and with a project supervisor who you meet regularly throughout the module. In addition, you are expected to work independently to forge the networks required to actualise your project and bring it to fruition or market (as appropriate).
