This module is a pre-requisite for FTV6101-20 Advanced Post Production II.
1. Brief description and aims of module:
Advanced Post Production 1 gives an in-depth insight into television post production and the real-world deliverables that are vital for the UK’s leading terrestrial TV market place. This module will delve into the world of TV and you will learn how to grade, create visual effects and learn what tracklay, ADR, Foley and mixing can do and how sound can enhance a television programme.
The work completed during this module builds towards the ‘Advanced Post Production 2’ module.
This module is a pre-requisite for Advanced Post Production II
2.Outline syllabus:
The workshops and seminars will cover:
Post-Production 1
Planning: asset handling; workflow; production & tech reviews; delivery;
Offline/Online and working within TV
Editing: Assembly, Rough cut, Fine cut, Finishing
Graphics, Archive and other Asset acquisition
File types, proxies, formats and version control
digital effects/composting
Sound Design; Sync; Foley

3.Teaching and learning activities:
The module will use a mixture of lectures and production workshops.
The lectures will teach students the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of post-production techniques and deliverables.
The production workshops will enable the students to practice the techniques that are taught in the lectures and enable them to post-produce material to an industry-standard level.
