1. Brief description and aims of module:
You must either take this module or EDU6114-20 Nepal: policy, power and ideology with reference to Education as a required part of your award. This module will provide you with opportunity to carry out a sustained investigation into an aspect of community education in Nepal. You will develop skills related to ethnographic research, including how to deal with the significant ethical issues that arise from such work. In addition, you will learn how to enter the field appropriately, how to collect data in an international context and how to ensure your work is as valid as possible. You will learn how to evaluate a range of approaches to the generation of understanding about education and development in Nepal. Above all, you will develop an awareness of your responsibility as a local, national and international citizen with a global perspective coupled with recognition of the need for sensitivity, flexibility and adaptability to work and live cross-culturally
