This module is a pre-requisite for CWR6106-20 Teaching Practice.
1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module aims to introduce participants to the theory of teaching writing to individuals and groups. Building on knowledge developed over the first two years of study, this module gives you an understanding of the relevant pedagogy necessary to develop a professional teaching practice, and some micro-teaching experience. Those interested in further practice, should opt for Teaching Practice (CWR6106-20) in Semester Two.
2. Outline syllabus:
The module introduces and examines relevant pedagogical theories and approaches to teaching writing. It includes the opportunity to observe the teaching of others and experience in-class micro-teaching. You will keep a learning log to track your reflections on the learning experience and the growing understanding of teaching pedagogy.

3. Teaching and learning activities:
The module is taught in three-hour sessions that combine short lectures, individual and group work, micro-teaching and observation.
