1.Brief description and aims of module
This module introduces the concepts and procedures of sound design, asset creation and sound/audio implementation for computer games. You will gain fundamental knowledge of the game development process and leave the module with a skill set which matches that required by the industry.
The module aims to:
Introduce the protocols and practices of the games industry relating to sound
Upskill you in the techniques relating to middleware and interactive audio
Enable you to develop a portfolio of game audio project work

The following topic areas will be covered on the module:
Industry processes and tools
Audio middleware
Interactive audio
Sound design & Foley
Working with full motion video
3.Teaching and learning activities
The module is delivered as a combination of lead lectures, seminars and workshop sessions. This will include content and discussion from industry guests. There will be coordinated opportunities to work collaboratively and in teams with Creative Computing students who are studying a game development module.
You will be guided towards the completion of a sound design brief, which you will use to inform the completion of the main assessments. You will also undertake a peer screening of your final project upon which you will receive feedback from your peers and the module lecturer.
