1.Brief description and aims of module
This module can take a variety of forms – from experimental practice within a creative specialism through to work created as part of an experiential learning experience or arising from a live brief.
This module allows you to work individually on independent projects. This module requires you to be inventive and to explore their own resources in designing and completing a personal project representing a full 40 credits’ work.
2.Outline syllabus
The module aims to foster and promote the development of student projects by the following:
Identify your needs and make use of available resources.
Use a journal to record your thinking at different stages and analyse any difficulties encountered.
Understand the relationship between imagination and practice, and between personal creative energies and the larger world of media.
Understand and respond to an identified audience develop, in some cases, the negotiating skills required by collaborative work.
Produce a finished project.
3.Teaching and learning activities
Each student will have a guiding tutor assigned to the project and will be offered up to 10 hours of contact time.
The tutorials will:
Review the progress of the project
Discuss the ideas, issues and practical problems arising in the course of the project
Monitor the practicality of the project in the light of the resources available
Ensure that each student's contribution to a collaborative project is clearly distinguishable
