1.Brief description and aims of module
This module requires you to extend your knowledge of your creative media specialisms by taking your interests out into the “real” world via negotiated project work. You will undertake enterprising project work with clients normally involving a team of 3 – 5 members.
This module provides experience of developing and delivering a creative media project in an interdisciplinary, collaborative and client-focused context.
A team of students from diverse specialisms will create a solution for an actual client on live media projects normally based at student-led production company: Artswork Media.
2.Outline syllabus
This module is project based. Projects can take a wide variety of forms from live event filming to interactive apps. All projects are shaped by in-depth negotiation of methods and aims between students and tutors. Skills workshops, master classes and technical support is provided (where possible and appropriate).
All projects involve taking some aspect of the students’ subject and exploring it in the context of current market forces/demands/need and will almost certainly involve some contact with a creative industry professional.
Teaching methods are necessarily flexible. During group production company meetings and one-to-one sessions, you are encouraged to identify your own training needs, which will be met wherever practically possible and within the context of the resources available.
3.Teaching and learning activities
The module core consists of:
Weekly group production company meetings where you share your work-in-progress with your colleagues on live client projects and other subject areas
Team-based and 1:1 tutorials with appropriate tutors
Group Assessment preparation clinics
