This module is designed to give you the opportunity to plan, develop and create your own business idea. It takes you from your initial idea through a reflexive journey to a final business concept and culminates in a presentation of your plans to an expert panel. This module will develop your business skills and awareness of what is required when working for yourself or entrepreneurially within innovative commercial organisations. The course encourages you to collaborate with other students to build on each others’ strengths and to learn from shared experience and knowledge.
This module aims to develop the following desirable graduate attributes:
- Digitally literate, able to work at the interface of creativity and technology.
- Creative thinkers, doers and makers.
2. Outline syllabus
This module will help you develop your working knowledge and capabilities to set up your own business. The syllabus covers business idea generation, understanding your market, operational implications, marketing and selling your business along with the financial skills development required to create and manage an enterprise concept of your own. You will get an opportunity to meet a range of entrepreneurs and industry experts.
3. Teaching and learning activities
Once you have had time to develop a concept you will be asked to share your idea with a small group of other students on the course. Each member of the group will provide you with some feedback.
