1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module focuses on the development of a showreel of filmed work to support the self-promotional material you will create in module ACT6020. This module aims to:
Provide you with opportunities to develop showreel material
Develop your working practice as an actor on screen
Advance your ability to identify the kind of material you need to present in a showreel
2. Outline syllabus:
At the core of this module are opportunities for you to develop filmed content that you can use to edit into your own showreel, alongside enabling your creative and technical skills. You will consider how to edit your own showreel, but also develop the technical skills required for self-tape auditions.
This is done within a production setting where you can work with fellow actors or filmmakers to develop a range of filmed pieces that you can use as the basis of a showreel. This module is about giving you the skill to self- manage your own mediated presence online and in self-promotional material.
3. Teaching and learning activities:
Following on from the technical development of module ACT5024-20, you will be expected to show greater autonomy in the module in terms of generating and editing your own material. However, you will also have opportunities to make films, either with colleagues or filmmakers.
This production process exists to serve your development of a showreel that combines technical, artistic, and self-promotional elements.
