HOW MANY CREDITS DO I NEED TO PICK IN A trimester AND AN ACADEMIC YEAR?
The academic year runs over three trimesters. The following rules apply:
Full Time students must have a total of 180 credits worth of modules across the academic year
Full Time students must have a total of 60 credits in each Trimester.
Part-time students may take their award over an extended period of time, although modules will always run within trimesters.
Part Time Students may not normally do more than 30 credits per trimester.
Part Time Students aiming to complete in 2 years generally take a minimum of 90 credits worth of modules across the academic year.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY CREDITS A MODULE IS WORTH?
The number at the end of the module code indicates the credit weighting for that module. For example, AM7001-30 is worth 30 credits.
WHAT IS A COMPULSORY and optional MODULE?
A Compulsory Module is a module offered by your Subject that you MUST take.
Optional Modules are offered by your Subject and you are free to pick any of the Optional Modules listed to make up your credit totals.
