This module aims to continue to develop your composition technique and comprehension of the aesthetic frameworks that surround it. You complete a portfolio of compositions that are realised in performance or other appropriate ways.

This module allows you to extend the skills and approaches explored in module PM7002 and advance these further. It is intended to provide composers with an opportunity to build on the technical and conceptual development of that module.
Consequently, you develop your individual voice as a composer by producing a portfolio of compositions suitable for professional performance, but informed by a deeper understanding of current compositional contexts.
3.Teaching and learning activities
Through weekly tutorials, you receive direct input into the pieces you are writing, supported by weekly seminars that look at work by other composers and artists with a view to developing a deeper understanding of the contemporary landscape.
Weekly seminars include tutor-led presentations and group discussion, as well as discussion of your work-in-progress with the class. Some sessions may be led by visiting academics and practitioners.
