2.Outline syllabus
In this module, a programme of lectures and specialist seminars, reading groups and study visits will be organised and scheduled in your MAFA calendar to help you plan and structure your verbal presentation, research folder and proposal. You will receive group and individual tutorials with the relevant tutors for support and guidance throughout the module. In your individual tutorials with the module tutor, you will receive a list of reading suggestions and tailor-made references that respond to the context and a critical position in your practice. These references and reading suggestions will be discussed in detail in your tutorials, to help you develop clear articulation of your interests and to apply it to the structure and delivery of your verbal presentation and proposal. The MAFA reading lists will be a key resource to support your studies in this module, and should be explored and revisited throughout the module. Regular gallery visits and study trips will be essential in supporting your visual references and influence technical aspects of your practice, including work’s display, curation and presentation. You will be asked to identify a key exhibition, or project, that informs your module proposal and echoes the examples of artistic practices your studio work is studying and engaging with.
