1.Brief description and aims of module
This module offers suitably qualified students the opportunity to produce a creative work (e.g. short film or literary work) that integrates and responds to their research in the Environmental Humanities.
2.Outline syllabus
In addition to the creative project, the form and focus of which is to be agreed with the supervisor and module co-ordinator, students will be required to write a 3,000 word essay that contextualises their work in relation to both a particular socio-environmental idea/issue (or set of ideas/issues) and in relation to comparable work in the medium and genre of the creative work.
3.Teaching and learning activities
Supervision tutorials; refresher research skills workshop; student-led workshop presentation. Students will also be expected to present finished papers at a summer symposium.
Contact time will comprise:
● up to a maximum of 10 hours supervision for each student
● optional 1 hour refresher research skills workshop led by LIS
● 3 hour student-led workshop presentation.
