As in the Dramatic Structure module, the emphasis is on building a plot and story that works.
3.Teaching and learning activities
Students attend three intensive weekend workshops. Each workshop lasts from 10.30 – 5.
Each weekend will devote extended time to each student’s work. We will comment, discuss, argue, and brainstorm ways forward. Much of this work will be done on our feet. There will be brief ad-hoc lectures of 5 to 10 minutes from the tutor when necessary.
In addition to the intensive weekends, students will have the opportunity to learn how to use the production and editing equipment for sound broadcasting in the Arts Lab.
If possible, at the end of the module they will have a rehearsed reading of their stage play or a production of their radio play with the help of performing arts students.
