Meet Our Staff

Our Editors For The 2023-2024 School Year

Lisa Gilliard

Yearbook Advisor

ABOUT

I have been Liberty’s yearbook adviser for the past 28 years. I was never involved with yearbook in high school but when I started teaching here back in 1996, several students approached me to help them with the yearbook. Of course I volunteered, not knowing what I was getting myself into. I have learned so much over the years of what to do and most certainly what not to do! Yearbook can be so frustrating yet so rewarding at the same time. I love working with students to help them show off their creativity and talents while creating a product full of memories from each and every year. We are proud to create a book that evokes the memories that will always take you back to those moments in time, reliving those memories as if they just happened yesterday. There is always something very special about getting a book that you helped to create and watching others enjoy the fruits of your labor! When I grow up, I am not sure what I want to be but I sure love what I am doing right now! So for this year, WATCH US GLOW!

ABOUT

Hello! I’m Alyssa Knadler, a current senior, and I have been involved with the yearbook since freshman year. I became a Co-Editor in my sophomore year, specifically the Photography Editor, and I have been doing photography since I was around 12 years old. I became the Co-Editor-in-Chief this year, and it is my job to help oversee the entire design process of the book. I love the photography aspects of the yearbook as well as graphic design. Working on the yearbook with my fellow editor is also such a great experience itself. I would recommend yearbook to other students who also have a creative eye and love for photography and design. After high school, I plan on attending a four year university to study astronomy. I am currently also the president of the Video Production club, and a layout editor of the Liberty Life Newspaper.

ABOUT

Hello! My name is Alexandria Braxton and I am a current senior. This is my third year being on the yearbook staff and I am so excited for the book we get to create this year. The entire process from taking photos to creating layouts is so fulfilling and rewarding. When not in school, I also volunteer at Cops ‘n’ Kids as well as at the Public Library and local schools. I hope to attend Lehigh University next fall for journalism, and hopefully continue work in this field. Although this is my final year on the yearbook staff, I would love to make it a memorable one!

ABOUT

Hi! My name is Smrithi Lakshminarayan and I am a current junior here at LHS. As the managing editor of the yearbook, I've immersed myself in the world of Yearbook for a year now, finding joy in every aspect of the process. From brainstorming innovative concepts to engaging with other students, I enjoy the collaborative nature of the overall design process. Why take Yearbook? Well it’s about recommending yearbook involvement to others, as it's a platform where personal talents can truly shine and contribute to our school. Beyond yearbook, I indulge in my love for crafting during my free time. Whether it's knitting hats, headbands, or my latest project, a stuffed Winnie the Pooh, I find solace in the art of creation. Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue a career in computer science, where I hope to continue channeling my creativity into innovative solutions and technological advancements. So, join us in Yearbook where the only limit is your imagination, and maybe the occasional shortage of yarn.

Kordelia Troiani

Coverage Editor

ABOUT

Hello, I'm Kordelia Troiani, a member of the Class of 2024. I'm hearing impaired and serve as the coverage editor for the yearbook. My role involves organizing the book's content and planning its layout. I also contribute to photography, page design, and interviewing individuals for the yearbook. I've been part of the yearbook team for four years, and what I love most about it is the creativity involved in putting together different elements. I highly recommend joining the yearbook team as it's a great collaborative experience, especially for shy students, and it allows you to explore and engage with the Liberty community. After high school, I plan to pursue a career in business, possibly in photography, graphic design.

ABOUT

Hi! My name is Darielis Polanco, and I am a senior at Liberty High School. I’ve recently joined Yearbook this year, and I am the copy editor for this year's 2024 yearbook. My role as a copy editor means reviewing and correcting the written content such as articles, captions, and such. I recommend Yearbook because there is something for everyone. If you are interested in photography, designing layouts, or creative writing, Yearbook has a spot for you. I, myself, enjoy all aspects but mostly coming up with creative phrases and headlines. Outside of school and Yearbook, I love reading and music. After graduating, I plan on attending Moravian University for Psychology and hopefully becoming a psychologist. If you are interested in becoming a part of something important and are interested in either the design, photography, or writing aspect of Yearbook, don’t be afraid to join!
