A statistical question has more than one possible answer. (What is the shoe size of each student in our class?)
A non-statistical question has only one answer. (How many days are in a week?)
Data can be represented in a dot plot (also called a line plot), where each dot represents a data point.
A histogram is the graphical representation of data where data is grouped into continuous number ranges and each range corresponds to a vertical bar.
The range represents an interval of numbers
EX: 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, 18-23, ...
The horizontal axis displays the number range.
The vertical axis (frequency) represents the amount of data that is present in each range.
There can be NO SPACES between bars.
The number of ranges depends upon the data that is being used.
