In a world where the use of plastic is ubiquitous, the marine sector is no exception. Plastics have been implemented in oyster reef restoration. We are working with partners to reduce this plastic by asking questions surrounding ecological success of attempts to employ natural alternatives, such as wooden oyster stakes, as alternative substrate (cultch) for oysters to colonize.
