Constructed Floating Wetlands are an emerging treatment wetland option especially well-suited for existing lentic water bodies, such as stormwater ponds. They provide water quality improvement and habitat simultaneously, however the extent to which they deliver these ecosystem services has not been well determined. We work to quantify rates of water quality improvement as well as habitat provisioning in these unique anthropogenic ecosystems. Additionally, we are focused on creating the next generation of constructed floating wetlands, free of plastics and other non-renewable materials.
