You've completed a placement...

So, you’ve finished your work experience placement. If all went to plan, you will have had an enjoyable time, learnt a lot about your chosen placement and gained a valuable insight into the world of work. Now that it’s over, it’s time to express your appreciation to the company who provided you with all this.

You will have thanked the employer on the last day of your work experience placement, but a letter is also important, as it is a more formal way to demonstrate you are grateful for the time the employer has put into arranging your placement. Employers like to have the opportunity to give you feedback on your performance and engagement in your placement, please ask them for feedback.

Since the letter is written after the placement, it is also a chance to show that  you have reflected on the experiences you had and what you have learnt. It is also a way of keeping in contact with your the organisation in case you need a reference. this can all be done via email if you prefer.

Now that you have completed your work / volunteering placement it is a good idea to reflect on the experience using the STAR method below

Please complete the Student evaluation form here

At the end of your placement please complete the transferable skills checklist via the  Unifrog Skills section

Don't forget to record your evaluation of your  placement as an activity on Unifrog!
