Employment

In 2016 the government set up the Care Leaver Covenant. This is a commitment made by employers (in the private, public and voluntary sector) to provide support for care leavers aged 16-25 to improved access to employment, education and training. Support includes things like work experience placements, traineeships and apprenticeships, when in employment assigning a workplace buddy, creating a point of contact you can talk to when applying for roles, guaranteed interviews for those that meet the minimum criteria for the role and many more.
