Classroom workflow
You can use Classroom to complete homework, learning activities, working on essays. Google classroom allows you to:
track classwork
submit assignment
share your work with your teacher
get feedback and grades
share resources and interact in the class stream
Google classroom connects with your Google Drive account. A folder will be automatically created as soon as you join a classroom.
You can use Classroom with other apps including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.
Once you have logged in some classrooms should be setup for you. There are two ways to join:
click the join class + sign in the top right corner of your screen
Your teacher should provide a class code for you to enter, click join.

Click join in the classroom tile to accept the invitation. Alternatively, you may receive the invitation through an email.
The Stream is where your teacher view and add announcements, assignments, discussions topics, and comments.
Stream is like social media, if your teacher allows it, you can communicate with other the class members to:
post - some information or a question
comment - a response to a post
reply - a response to a comment
You can add files, images and other resources in your post. All the information you enter will be seen by other students as a class comment.
Note: If your teacher mutes you, you can’t post, comment, or reply to comments. Only teachers can unmute a student.
The Upcoming section is very useful since you can check out any outstanding work with the due date. This helps you organise your workload.
If you want to contact your teacher or any other class members privately, select the class people tab.
You select the person you want to communicate with and click the email icon next to their name.
The classwork area is where you receive homework, assignment or learning activities.
Question - your teacher has posted a question, you can answer it straightaway. You may also want to add and send comments to your teacher. Click Hand in to submit it.
Note: If you write and send your comment from the main panel, it will be seen by other members of the class. If you want to sent a private comment to your teacher, use the Private comments box.
Assignment - instructions and questions for the assignment are posted by the teacher. Click the file (Google Docs, Sheet or Slides) to complete the work. Once you have completed the work, close the file (it is automatically saved), click Mark as Done to submit your assignment.
Note: You can click Unsubmit to return to your assignment and edit it before you submit it again.
Creating your own document - click Add or create and select either Docs, Slides, Sheets or Drawings to complete the work. At the top of your document, click TURN IN and confirm your submission by clicking Hand on.
Attachment - click Add or create and select File (clip icon). Select the file or image saved on your local computer device, click upload to attach the file. Click Hand in and confirm to submit your work.
Your teacher creates an assignment which is copied to every students in the class. The copies are generated as soon as the teacher clicks on assign and post the assignment to the stream section in classroom.
Once the student receives the assignment, the student becomes the owner of that copy. The student can edit the document and complete the work.
As soon as the student clicks turned in, the ownership is transferred back to the teacher. The student can view only the document. However, if the student click unsubmit the ownership is returned to the student.
When the teacher returns the assignment with or without feedback, the ownership reverts back to the student (see below).
