IBPOC-owned and IBPOC-serving media channels are chronically underfunded and have a hard time surviving without advertising revenue support. Yet they are often held to unreasonable and discriminatory standards that originate in the settler-colonizer, industrial-commercial complex.
Examine how to remove disrespectful barriers to buying media and invest in these channels which present IBPOC perspectives, stories and voices in a way that is rarely seen in mainstream media. The denial of ad dollars to IBPOC-owned media silences IBPOC voices and stories and eventually erases them from public discourse.
