The Barneveld SkillsUSA Chapter was re-established in 2014, with nine members, and has been active since. Our chapter made a name for itself that first year by placing at every event, including placing at nearly all of the contests we were entered in at the State competition that year. From the 2014-2015 SkillsUSA season to the following fall, 2015-2016 season, our chapter doubled in size, as shown below, and has continued to improve.

So how did we do it?
Re-establishing the chapter took hard work and dedication from all the members. Understanding registration and contest guidelines were all new experiences for our chapter. Having members who cared about doing things correctly helped this chapter to get back on its feet.
Having strong leaders, and being a student led organization, really aids in the success of our chapter because members show more pride and interest in their work and activities.
What are we doing now?
Before attending competitions, our chapter holds monthly meetings to discuss and plan fundraising activities, prepare for competitions, create or update our resumes, and register for competitions.
We continue to have meetings and do chapter activities throughout the year. We have also begun working on larger fundraising projects that will draw in even more people and, hopefully, success.
How do I get involved?
Any middle or high school student is welcome to become a member. There are many contests that members can compete in. Members are welcome to compete in any event that interests them.
If you have any questions feel free to contact Mr. Hodgson ("Contact" page) or any of the SkillsUSA Officers and members.
