Obligations and Responsibilities

OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each senior must see that ALL obligations are fulfilled before receiving his/her diploma. This includes credits, fees, cap and gown, announcements, disciplinary matters, and all other obligations.  ALL books must be returned to the school and fines paid.  All equipment, books, materials, and athletic items must be turned in or paid for.

• All obligations must be cleared up no later than 12:00 P.M. April 17th in order to attend prom.  No personal checks can be accepted after April 17th, 2024.  

• All other obligations MUST be cleared up by May 23, 2024 in order to receive graduation tickets and to participate in the graduation ceremony. No personal checks can be accepted after April 17th, 2024.  

Diplomas

Students who have outstanding obligations and who do not receive their diplomas at graduation will be able to pick up their diplomas in the Principal’s Office after fulfilling their obligation. All other students will receive their correct diplomas during the ceremony.

Caps and Gowns

Each graduate is required to purchase a cap and gown in advance. Each graduate is required to wear a cap and gown at graduation. Cap and gown information will be distributed by Jostens on September 13, 2023. Our Jostens representative will be at BHS on September 21, 2023 and September 22, 2023 to take cap and gown orders. The cost of the cap and gown is approximately $40.00. Graduates who would like to wear a former graduate’s cap and gown may do so. Tassels may be purchased separately. Caps and gowns will be distributed in the spring.  

Senior Checkout/Final Transcript Request

All seniors will complete a mandatory senior checkout form. Senior checkout forms will be distributed the last senior week and need to be turned in at graduation rehearsal in order to receive their five graduation tickets. Seniors will complete a mandatory Senior Exit Survey from our guidance department. This form includes information regarding their post high school plans as well as where our college bound graduates would like their final transcript sent. ALL UNIVERSITIES REQUIRE THAT GRADUATING SENIORS WHO WILL ATTEND IN THE SUMMER/FALL REQUEST TO THEIR HIGH SCHOOL THAT THEIR FINAL TRANSCRIPT BE SENT UPON GRADUATION. The Guidance Office will send final transcripts the second week of June once all grades have been finalized.
