Dear Parents, Guardians and Class of 2024,

The 2023-2024 school year is going to go by very fast. It will be the fastest school year you will remember. Let me be the first to say congratulations, but you are not done yet. You have one more very important year that will be filled with stress, laughs, fun and hopefully not too many tears.  

We saw a need to provide parents with information. This along with our senior parent night is aimed to provide you will all this information to hopefully minimize misinformation and help reduce the stress of the senior year. In this pamphlet you will find information on dances, FAFSA, senior photos, discipline, ACT/ SAT, FEES, senior hours and graduation to name a few. 

Please understand, I will not be extending deadlines. Many of the deadlines are set by outside agencies or companies and they are out of my control. Students are expected to follow school rules and remember that inappropriate behavior early in the year may result in students not participating in Prom AND/OR the graduation ceremony. 

Remember this is your last year to get it right, to graduate on time. Every year there are several students who delay or do things that cause them not to graduate on time. I have all the faith in you that you have the abilities to complete this year.  I always have said that one of the few things in life that no one can take from you is your education. No one can take away your ability to learn and grow. You will get out of your education what you put in. The harder you work now, the easier it will be later in life. 

Finally, I want to thank the parents and families for the support they have not only offered to the Barberton City Schools over the last years but also to the seniors. Seniors without them and your friends’ parents, you may not be here going into your last year. I know it feels like May 24th is a long way off, but it will get here soon enough. Congratulations.
