District Academic Leadership

Barberton City Schools has a strategic plan to guide our district in systematically improving student achievement. A community-district committee was formed to develop the district goals.

Each year the district reevaluates the goals met and conducts an analysis of student performance data. The goals are revised and each building revises their building plans. This process was called the Continuous Improvement Process.

The Continuous Improvement Process framework is built around data discussions. These discussions occur with the support of a structured process. The goal is to assist the district/schools in developing strong communication which explicit expectations.

1) There is a district leadership team (DLT) that meets monthly to analyze data and collaborate in order to change adult behaviors to impact student success.

2) Each school building has a building leadership team (BLT) that meets monthly support TBT and classroom monitoring and results.

3) Each teacher is part of a teacher based team (TBT) that meets weekly to collect and analyze performance data, establish expectations for implementation of effective classroom changes, and then implements and monitor the outcome of those changes.
