Thank you for joining the counseling corner website. I created this website to help provide support with social-emotional learning, academic and career awareness and also provide information on how I support our Cabazon Dinos . For each category labeled at the top there will be information and activities that pertain to each topic. Here you will find information about how to access myself and outside resources along with the forms to request individual and group counseling services(Tier II supports). If you have any questions about maneuvering through the website or have any questions in regards to counseling services feel free to contact me via email, which is listed above and below. I look forward to connecting with the Cabazon community.
Hi!
I am Mrs. Barajas, School Counselor and Tier II Coordinator at Cabazon Elementary. I cannot wait to meet you all and share another great year at Cabazon Elementary. I wanted to share a little information about myself, so you can get to know me a little! I received my Master of Education Degree in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential at Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a Spanish Minor at Northern Arizona University.
Some fun facts about myself!
I love to spend time with family and friends. I am mom to two little boys and a little girl, so I am really enjoying family time with my little ones and husband. I have three doggies who I consider my kids as well! Since I love spending time with family and my doggies, we like to go to the dog beach a lot during the warmer times. Last but not least, I love to play soccer, painting and enjoy singing!
Monday-Friday: 8:30am-3:40pm
Feel free to contact me via email at jabarajas@banning.k12.ca.us or by calling the school at 951-922-0252 ext. 311100
*Please keep in mind I may not get back to you right away, but I will try my best to respond within 1 business day,
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!
Meeting the diverse needs of all of our students is the most important. My School Counseling Program focuses on three specific areas: the social-emotional learning, college/career awareness and academics. All three areas are specific to the needs of every student.
The role of a counselor is to support students, families, and staff. This means the counselor is here to assist with any needs for the student or the family. You can find how I help kiddos at the Tier I and Tier II level by clicking the tabs labeled Tier I (All Students) and Tier II (Some Students).
