NASA’s first program was project Mercury.
“NASA’s first high profile program was project Mercury, this was an effort to learn if humans could survive in space” (NASA).
Because of the first project they learned that humans could survive in space with few minor changes and improvements. NASA’s first project paved the way for future projects like the Apollo missions, Project Gemini and many more future projects and missions.
NASA has made a goal to push the scientific boundaries and technical limits to explore the unknown for all citizens of our planet.
“Since its founding in 1958, NASA has pushed the boundaries of scientific and technical limits to explore the unknown for all the citizens of our planet. Discover the history of our human spaceflight, science, technology, and aeronautics programs” (NASA).
The latest inventions that help discover the history of the past are continuing to help the discoveries of the future such as NASA wanting to send people back to the moon and to go even further, hopefully one day send people to Mars with the Artemis missions.
