Women wanted to change their role to be more equal.
”…forcing women to find “women’s work” in lower paying but more stable careers like housework, teaching and secretarial roles”(History).
“…women sought greater participation in the workplace, with equal pay at the forefront of their efforts”(History).
“…women were still relegated to unfulfilling roles in homemaking and child care”(History).
During the Great Depression women had to start finding jobs. Women would not get equal pay and could not get certain jobs. Women wanted to be able to get whatever job opportunities they wanted along with equal pay. They wanted to be able to be more than just a housewife. They wanted the responsibility and right to care for themselves on their own. Women now have equal pay and job opportunities.
