This photo shows chalk art from a protest regarding the war in Palestine. People have protested our involvement and giving money and aid to Israel, similar to how people used to protest our involvement in Vietnam. It shows us how we still do campus protests but they now are safer.

"They at least know that they don't want any famine and suffering and death done in their name," she says. "And so it's inspiring to see them having similar conversations that we had, saying 'We don't like what we're seeing and we need to speak out against it.'" (Roseann Canfora, May 4th, 2024).
The Kent State massacre has had effects on people who protest now and affected what people thought of protests and protesters then. Roseann Canfora was at the Kent State massacre and talks about how the current college protests regarding Palestine and the war in Gaza are similar to the college protests back then. She states about how people started using excuses for the violence after the shooting and for other demonstrations that had violence. The government called the Vietnam war protesters bums and didn't change how they felt until after lives were lost at the hands of the gaurdsmen.
