Scientific name:Ursus Alotuses Maximus.
Aiden's creature:
Lucas' creature:
First Drafts:
On the left are drafts that Lucas and Aiden made for our individual animals. In the beginning we knew how we wanted it to look like, so we each just added some useful adaptations for it.
Habitat:
The Alot lives in large caves etched into the middle area of mountains, as you can see in this AI-generated photo below.
The Amazing Alots
Introduction:
This animal ruthlessly kill their prey by constricting them like a snake and killing them with their claws. They live in deep dark caves and eat anything that comes their way. This is the Alot.
Habitat:
There are 5 islands where all the Alot live all the islands are almost identical and have a lake in the middle. Each island has around 4444 tribe leaders that have an annual meeting at the central lake of each island. The Alot live in deep dark caves, where they sleep in their nest in to keep warm. They sleep for about 9 hours a day and the rest is spent hunting or foraging for food. In the winter, the Alots hibernate like a bear and do not move around as much to conserve energy. Smaller animals stay away from these caves because they know that it is the Alot's territory. When the food in their territory runs out, the male Alots leave for the lake to catch fish by putting bait on their tail and then lowering it like fishing poles. The Alots have adapted to thrive in their environment.
Adaptations:
Some of the Alots unique adaptations are that they catch their land-based prey by using their long whip-like tail and suffocate them, big paws to help spread out body weight, along with many others. Due to their small eyes, Alots can see in the dark which is helpful for them as they live in dark caves with long nights. A thick white coat of fur and a layer of blubber keep them warm and hidden in the background, as well as small round ears and short legs for less heat loss like an Arctic Fox. In winter, they grow even more fur for better heat retention. They can weigh up to 240 kg, so it's hard for them to climb up steep terrains. Therefore, they have short legs for more vertical climbing stability and 3 sharp claws for grip. They evolved with bigger brains - an average IQ of 180. Alot's have grown thicker skulls to protect them. Alots have teeth similar to humans, having sharp teeth at the front for ripping meat apart and flat teeth at the back for plants, as they have an interesting diet.
Diet:
The Alot is both a scavenger and a predator. It eats anything smaller than them for its main source of protein. They store fish in their mouths like penguins for the baby Alots and once they come back, they regurgitate the fish through their mouth to feed their babies. They are omnivores so they also eat plants. Their favourite plant to eat is a grey moss-like plant for nutrition and energy. Females have 4 nipples to feed their young until they reach the age of 3 in Earth years.
Lifespan/ weight and height:
Males can be 4.5 - 5 feet tall on it's hind legs and females can be 4.2 - 4.7 feet tall. Males weigh around 225 kg - 240 kg with females weighing around 190 kgs - 200 kgs. Newborn Alots are 12 - 14 inches tall and weigh just more than a pound. Babies take 7 Earth years to grow into adulthood, with their lifespan being 27 Earth years in total. Females can give birth 5 years after adulthood. They stay pregnant for 6 months until giving birth to 1 baby Alot around every 3 Earth years and feed them milk for 2 years.
Now that we know quite a lot about the Alot, we can conclude that they are a smart creature despite it's cute and cuddly appearance, with their IQ of 180.
All in all, The Alots are truly remarkable creatures.
AI Pictures:
These are the images of the finalized Alots that we have generated from Chat GPT. The bottom is the adult male and the ones on the sides are the baby female and male. The babies are born with wide eyes and they seem to get smaller when they reach adulthood as they grow into them.

Achromatic Moss:
The Achromatic Moss closely resembles regular moss. It is dense, shaggy clumps/mats that grow in damp places. But one key difference is that the Achromatic Moss has adapted to appear grey to blend into the wet rock where it grows. Despite this camouflage, the Alots found them accidentally by feeling the textural difference, and now use them as their main source of nutrition.
